This role forms part of the global API Program Management team with responsibility for leading multiple cross functional projects; monitoring and drives program progress versus timelines, budgets and deliverables to support client and business needs. The individual will identify and mitigate project risks, ensure profitability of projects and champion customer satisfaction.  The Program Manager II is responsible for assigned client projects, developing the clear project management plan at the outset and managing this through all stages.
The PM will co-ordinate and communicate regularly with various internal departments, ensuring effective and consistent cross-functional project and resource management processes with the objective of delivering the clients requirements on schedule. The types of projects supported by the API PMO are as follows:
• Tech transfer into an API site of a customer project; either direct from client R&D facility or from development (DDA) division
• API site to API site transfers
• Management of selected commercial customers and lifecycle management of commercial customer products (e.g. change in supplier qualification)

• This role operates in a heavily regulated industry and GMP environment and duties are required to be carried out in compliance with all relevant internal procedures, GMP and customer specific documentation
• Lead, co-ordinate and drive programs and associated projects internally to ensure that client satisfaction, timelines, and budget are the primary focus (as reflected in KPIs)
• Ensure Planisware, used to create Gantt timelines, risk registers and issue logs for client projects, is up-to-date and correct; utilizing the system to assess Portfolio metrics, such as on time delivery
• Ensure that every project is suitably resourced and project team is clear on overall goals
• Foster good communication and relationships with other departments to fulfil client deliverables on-time; influencing those that are not direct reports
• Facilitates client project meetings throughout project lifecycle, ensuring communication lines are clearly defined using Communication Management Strategy
• Work as a client advocate, balancing the needs of the client with those of the business, as well as ensuring regular and open communications
• Spend time with on-site visitors and participate in meetings with potential and current clients
• Contribute to Net Promoter Score (customer satisfaction) survey process for Drug Product division and drive improvements in this metric
• Ensure CRM and Oracle is current for all projects and change orders
• Utilize Power BI, or other financial dashboard(s), to monitor project profitability, ensuring target margins are met. Ensure any out of scope activities are flagged to relevant internal stakeholders and client in a timely fashion
• Development of project revenue forecasts
• Ensure timely identification and escalation of potential issues with proposed solutions to line manager and Site Head/Plant Manager as appropriate
• Conducts full or phased project review at appropriate stages of the project
• Identifies any lessons learned, and host close out meeting with client and project team where appropriate
• Identify and correct issues that hinder the function and success of projects at the site; proactively seeks out and recommends process improvements
• Work with departmental leaders to advance areas which are highlighted for process improvements
• Coaching of peers within the PMO in addition to other groups as appropriate to build talent across the global network
• Ensure timely escalation of potential issues to Line Manager and/or Plant Manager/Site Head as appropriate
• Liaison and co-ordination with internal departments involved in the project
• Regular interaction with client, being the point of contact for all project enquiries and facilitator of calls/meetings with them

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Engineering related discipline
• Project Management Certification; PRINCE 2, PMP or equivalent is desirable, with working knowledge of proven methodologies and principles
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a project management role. Experience in Pharmaceuticals required; API manufacturing is strongly preferred
• Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office Excel, Word and Project
• Experience of managing a CRM system, ideally Oracle
• Commercial acumen and ability to tracks costs/budgets/financial reporting related to the project
• Demonstrated proactive and organized approach, able to exert influence over those whom they do not have direct authority and proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Customer related experience and client facing skills
• Ability to communicate and work with personnel of all levels
• Good working knowledge of AMRI services, contract development / research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries

• Understanding of processes, technical issues, requirements of all the individual business and service lines
• Good networking ability and able to be decisive in decision making when facing ambiguity
• Proven flexibility in adjusting to a rapidly evolving workload and remaining calm under pressure
